How the program works

This unique, habit-forming program guides you through a series of weekly videos (each less than 40 minutes long) to examine the key components of resilience. During the videos you will explore evidence-based, resilience-building tactics in the core areas of physical mastery, self-awareness and intentional living.

At the end of each lesson you will identify the one key habit you will implement via the weekly challenge exercise. These weekly challenge exercises are designed to get you into action and create habits that not only build your resilience, but also improve your overall health and wellbeing.

 

Physical Mastery

In module one we explore the habits and behaviours which support our physical mastery. We learn how sleeping deep, eating consciously and moving often are the keys to improved health, increased energy, higher cognitive function and reduced stress.

Self Awareness

In module two we delve into the practices that support our mental and emotional well-being. We explore and practice mindfulness. We experience the benefits of a positive mindset. We discover how fundamental real, authentic connections are to not only our health and wellbeing, but also to getting through adversity. Finally, we delve into work recovery. We create important boundaries from work, technology and social media to recharge and ultimately become more productive.

Intentional Orientation

In module three we develop an intentional orientation. Resilient individuals tend to have purpose, know their values and have a vision that is compelling to them and which informs their decisions.

Many dream of a better life but don’t articulate what that means or create strategies to get there. In this module we do it together. We discover what is important to us, articulate our values, and create a vision for our lives. Finally, we create tangible action steps to get us moving in the “right” direction.

Knowledge

Easy to understand videos lay out the content and set the stage to empower you to become more resilient.

We know your time is precious.  These videos are succinct and will move you quickly into action.

Intentional action

Let Resilient by Design be the vehicle which gets you into action in your life.

Knowledge alone is insufficient to create positive sustainable behaviour change.

Resilient by Design was built using the latest research in the neuroscience of behaviour change. Focused attention, mindful action, repetition and accountability are some strategies built right into the program design to help create new neuro-pathways in your brain.

The secret to success of the Resilient by Design program lies in what is referred to as neuroplasticity. Neuroplasticity is an umbrella term referring to the ability of your brain to reorganize itself, both physically and functionally, due to your environment, behavior, thinking, and emotions. 

The program creates a new environment for you to engage in and challenges you to new ways of thinking (knowledge) and new ways of behaving (intentional action) in order to build new neuropathways that contribute to your resilience and supercharge your overall wellness.

In other words, this program provides the platform for real positive change through knowledge, intentional action, accountability, emotional engagement and reinforcement.; all critical factors in new neuropathway creation.

The program is for busy professionals struggling to get it all done; for people wanting to thrive in our new 24/7 competitive, disrupted reality but not knowing how to. If you are stressed, overwhelmed and running all the time and if you feel like you could be better, do better and get better results but don’t know how.

Each weekly video lesson is between 15 and 60 minutes long. After each lesson you will complete a challenge exercise and implement a resilience-enhancing habit. Completing the challenge exercise should take no more than 10 minutes. The time it takes to implement your new habit is up to you based on your chosen habit. For example, if you decide to start bringing a healthy lunch to work you will need to schedule in some time for that.  

Each lesson is like an interactive textbook. You will have access to a pre-recorded lesson, a challenge exercise, additional learning and an opportunity to learn from peers via the discussion forum. You will also be urged to find an accountability partner during the program to help you with staying true to your development of resilience-enhancing habits and commitments.

Not a problem – the program is flexible, and provides 180 days of full course access and certificate eligibility. We suggest you complete one lesson per week but you won’t be penalized for not following this schedule as long as you complete the program in 180 days.

Yes! If you complete the program within 180 days, your electronic certificate will be sent to you via email you can print your certificate or add it to your LinkedIn profile. Note that the program certificate does not represent official academic credit.

Resilient by Design is an on-line program. As long as you have access to the internet you have access to the content anytime and anywhere. You can also learn on any device including iPhone or android.

Once you complete your program, you may nominate an individual who is struggling but can’t afford the program and we will cut the price by 75% for your nominee.  

Organizational sponsorship programs are also available wherein participating organizations can sponsor a charity of their choice.
